Give
When working in retail, specifically fashion, you see an awful lot of abundance. As fortunate as I have been in my life, I believe it is imperative to give back to those who have been less fortunate.
I think the reason most of us don't do more is we think we don't have the time or that we are not informed. I wanted to use the site as a vehicle to promote learning and giving and to provide you with a simple way to do so.
Eventually, Hazel & Grace will be sponsoring numerous charities that you can make a donation to when you make a purchase. There will be information and links to each organization, so you can make an informed decision or maybe decide to offer support in other ways.
One of the organizations that is very close to my heart is Cradles to Crayons.
Cradles to Crayons' misson is to provide, free of charge, low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. C2C also sets a foundation for lasting change through the meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities we provide to thousands of youth and adults each year.
C2C is the glue between communities that have and communities that need. C2C makes it simple for children, families, corporations to give their time, treasures and talent to benefit other children in their community. By partnering with social service agencies for distribution, they have a direct channel to serve tens of thousands of children in need each year.
Cradles to Crayons was founded by my friend Lynn Margherio and is based in Quincy, Ma. This past November, Hazel & Grace, sponsored the first ever C2C drive in the town of Wellesley. The drive collected 6,000 pounds of supplies.
